A moment of peace

How much time do you make for yourself? To process the day or week’s events, or even do something just for you that doesn’t involve looking after others, chasing work deadlines, or getting tangled in any other life events.

Today I pulled a card which shows a lady in the desert. As the sun goes down behind her and the stars come out, she sits crossed legged on a comfortable rug enjoying her peaceful surroundings.

In front of her is a glowing candle to light the way in the darkness, and interestingly a large smooth rock. It looks like this might be to keep the rug from flying away but also feels like a sign of stability and inner strength. That this person can handle whatever comes her way.

She pours a cup of piping hot tea which warms and soothes. Next to her is a small but beautiful bunch of flowers, possibly symbolising her connection to nature. Everything about this figure oozes contentment and serenity, even though she looks to be completely alone.

It feels as though she is happy in her own company, away from the chaos and busy-ness of everyday life. Finding the bliss in the present moment. A beautiful glowing light surrounds her like an aura, as if she has connected with her true self or even with an higher energy. It looks like a meditative state of being.

Behind this lady are tall mountains which are perhaps representing the challenges she faces in life. But for now, she has her back to them and will turn around to deal with things once she has replenished her energy and recharged her soul.

This card is ultimately about hope, healing and rejuvenation. That you have everything you need within you to find peace in the present moment. This card suggests you don’t need to look outside of yourself or even have anything fancy with you. The lady in the desert has just a few simple things

We don’t even need to go into the desert or other remote place. We can access this state of being whenever we want to. The lady on the card has made the choice to take time out from the hamster wheel of life and we can too.

So how will you connect with your inner peace today?
