I have obviously been watching too many episodes of a series I’m binge watching on Netflix! I pulled an oracle card as today’s “hug from spirit” and it immediately made me think of the main character.
The card shows a damp corner of a cottage where orange mushrooms with bright red spots are growing. They are all at different heights as some grow faster than others.
The character in the show has OCD and in one scene he cuts the stems of a bunch of flowers so that all the blooms are the same length. Ultimately he doesn’t feel like he is in control of life, and this is one way he can try to make his surroundings a little more perfect. But sadly, life isn’t perfect, and we aren’t always in control of the steering wheel.
The flowers are still stunning even though they are not the same length. There is beauty in the chaos.
On my card the scene is chaotic. Plaster is peeling from the walls because of the moisture in the air and the whole area is turning a green mouldy colour. A blue and purple blog of fungus is developing above the taller mushrooms and a little pink creature is perched on top of it. He looks like he is waiting for something.
At first glance it might look a mess and as though, over time, the damp will only get worse. But just behind the pink creature is something magical. A beautiful purple crystal has suddenly grown overnight.
This card wants to tell us that sometimes in life we can think nothing is happening. That things are on pause, or worse we may feel that everything is going wrong. But magical forces may be coming together in the background to present us with something amazing. Forces that we can’t see.
You might not yet be able to see the beautiful crystal in the corner, and instead focus on the damp and mould. But that doesn’t mean that the conditions haven’t been developing to allow such a wonderful thing to occur.
We can never see the entirety of our life’s path. Sometimes it may feel like a mist has descended, making it even less clear which way we are going. But that doesn’t mean that things aren’t aligning in the background to lead us to a wonderful destination.
The pink creature on the card has faith and trust that while conditions might not seem great, who knows what is being aligned for us. Perhaps we should embrace this mindset too.
I pulled a final card for clarification and it shows a powerful tiger leaping across the desert towards a chequered flag. This feels like encouragement to go the distance. To remember that we have the strength and endurance to reach our goals and dreams.
We might feel that we have been wandering in that desert for a long time, with nothing happening. There may even be obstacles behind and ahead of us, but we should not fear them. These conditions could be moulding and shaping us into that beautiful purple crystal as we head in the direction of the chequered flag.
