Mystery bottle

Do you have one of those little cupboard under the stairs in your house? Or even a tiny box near your front door where you keep keys and other objects?

My Grandma had one and as a child I was always fascinated by it. It was made of wood and looked pretty old. She had it close to the ground so my imagination would go into overdrive, day dreaming about fairies or other little creatures living behind the door.

In reality there was nothing so exciting in there!

Today’s ‘hug’, or oracle card, is all about a little wooden box or cupboard but this one is up high on the wall. Inside is a corked bottle with a handwritten label around the neck stating “for you”. Two little creatures sit on top of the box looking down at it with curiosity.

There aren’t many clues as to what is in the bottle apart from a large red love heart on the back wall of the cupboard. Perhaps inside is a love potion or some other magical concoction? Or it might be something more mundane like water.

We know this bottle is a present for us though because the oracle card is called “gift”. On further inspection the bottle is in fact empty which is even more confusing! Leading us to wonder what is the actual gift?

But the message of this card is about your inner gifts. The empty bottle is a reminder that you already have all the tools you need within you. To remember that these special qualities are always there to help you navigate life. You don’t necessarily need to look without, or externally, for help and guidance.

Sometimes all you have to do is go within and listen to the wisdom of your heart.
