Sweet rewards

Today’s ‘hug’ is a sweet card about honey!

A little creature has climbed a very tall tree. It was a long way up and it took him a great deal of time to get there, but he is rewarded by the site of a bee hive. Inside the hive is lots of lovely gooey treats and a reward for the huge effort this creature has made.

But he stops for a moment. Doubts creep into his mind, “do I really deserve to take it?”, and “perhaps I should wait until someone comes along and gets some out for me”. He stands on the branch hesitating, one arm slightly reaching out to the hive.

Sometimes we might find ourselves doubting our own worth. Unsure if we have done enough to deserve recognition. Even though the creature put in such a huge amount of effort to reach the honey, and part of him knows he should take his reward, he can’t quite do it.

Uncertainty takes hold. His negative inner voice talks him out of it and takes a swing at his self esteem.

This card is a reminder to pat yourself on the back when a reward is offered. That you, as much as anyone, deserve the accolades and triumphs for your achievements in life. Celebrate the journey and the effort it took to get there.
